About:
Second-graders at Meadow Drive School in the Mineola Union Free School District took part in a yearlong community service project that culminated with a food shopping trip and a visit to the food pantry at Church of Saint Aidan in Williston Park.
Throughout the year, students in Mrs. Brennan’s class recycled bottles and cans from around the school, which yielded approximately $240. The class used the money to purchase food and then delivered the items to the food pantry. Ms. Cavallaro, a representative from Saint Aidan’s, explained to students how the food pantry works and whom it helps.
